Jazz guitarist Jūris Benaitis is involved in a range of musical projects where jazz, improvisation and different musical directions meet. Each project develops through live performance and a shared creative process, seeking a distinct sound and a natural connection with the listener.
Saxophone & Guitar Duo – Nojus Jurkus & Jūris Benaitis
A jazz duo bringing together saxophone and guitar, improvisation and musical dialogue. The music blends jazz, world and experimental elements, with a sound shaped by space and moment.
The project emerged from a shared musical background and creative exploration. Their recording “You Know” was included in the album Jazz from Lithuania, presented at the international jazz fair jazzahead!.
Project “Nebijok”
A collaborative project created together with “Geri emocijų namai” and “MAMA studios”. Music here becomes a way to pause, reflect and connect with one’s inner emotional state.
The piece invites a more attentive and sensitive listening experience, maintaining a subtle and atmospheric sound.
Tikra Muzika – Live Music Projects
“Tikra Muzika” is a collective of live music projects bringing together professional Lithuanian musicians. Among them are vocalists Vytautė Pupšytė and Akmėja Bru, as well as jazz and pop instrumentalists such as Domas Žostautas, Darius Rudis, Nojus Jurkus, Gediminas Augustaitis and others.
The projects are based on live performance, creative interaction and a continuous search for a distinctive sound. The music blends jazz, bossa nova, pop and other styles, often shaped through original arrangements and different ensemble formations.
Solo Project – Guitar & Voice
A program for electric (archtop) guitar and voice, where jazz tradition meets improvisation. The sound remains intimate and fluid, focused on natural musical expression.
The performance develops as a dialogue with the listener, leaving space for spontaneity and interpretation.
Jazz Guitar Duo – Jūris Benaitis & Žilvinas Benaitis
A father and son guitar duo where jazz tradition, improvisation and interaction meet. Two electric guitars create a constantly evolving and sensitive musical texture.
The repertoire includes jazz pieces, bossa nova and freely developing improvisations, allowing each performance to take a unique direction.
About Jūris Benaitis
Jūris Benaitis is a jazz guitarist with a background in both classical and jazz music. He studied at Vilnius J. Tallat-Kelpša Conservatory, Kaunas J. Gruodis Conservatory, the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and Vilnius College.
He actively performs with various jazz and pop ensembles, composes music and is involved in music education. His artistic approach is rooted in improvisation, deep listening and the continuous exploration of musical language.
He is also the founder of the music studio “Kvarta” – an educational platform dedicated to developing young musicians, encouraging creativity and fostering a natural relationship with music.
